The distance from Nairobi is 238 km; to get to the reserve is best by car.
One of Kenya's oldest and most visited national parks, Amboseli is located to the south of Nairobi at the foot of the highest mountain of the African continent Kilimanjaro. The area of the park is 392 square meters. km. Vegetation here is quite scarce, but the animal world is very diverse: lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, rhinoceroses, zebras, wildebeests, impala, gazelles, giraffes, buffaloes and many birds, including marabou. There are more elephants here than in any other park in the country. In Amboseli, as in Masai Mara, the Maasai tribes live, and tourists can visit their village of Manyatta.
